How We Build a Passage Guide
We begin with the text and its surrounding argument. We then compare related passages and established Christian readings, separating broad agreement from genuine disagreement. Where a popular quotation drops the original audience or context, we explain the limit plainly.
We do not claim first-hand spiritual authority or invent consensus. Descriptions of Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, Calvinist, Arminian, Baptist, Pentecostal, and other traditions use qualified language when views vary within a tradition.
What Editors Check
- The opening gives a direct answer before extended background.
- Scripture quotations identify an approved translation.
- Disputed readings are represented fairly and in their strongest recognizable form.
- The page distinguishes what the text says from later theological conclusions.
- Headings, summaries, and related links help readers find the next relevant passage.
- Corrections are made when wording overstates certainty, drops context, or misrepresents a view.
